Teams interviews are usually corporate interviews, which means the meeting is hosted in the employer's tenant and often recorded. Guest access, tenants and what the host controls
When you interview at a company over Teams, you usually join as a guest in their tenant. The host organisation controls the meeting: recording, transcription, live captions and who can present. What a tenant does not control is your computer — a meeting host has no visibility into the applications running on a guest's machine.
Assume the meeting is recorded and transcribed. Teams recording with transcription is on by default in many enterprise configurations, and Copilot summaries are increasingly enabled. This affects nothing about how CueNova works, but it is worth knowing that your spoken answers are likely to be a durable transcript rather than a conversation someone half-remembers.
One practical consequence: a long silence before an answer is preserved in a recording and is more noticeable on replay than it was live. Answers that begin streaming as the question lands are worth more on Teams than anywhere else.
Teams-specific things to check
Window share versus desktop share
Teams presents these as separate options and they take different capture paths. Test whichever one you expect to be asked for — in practice, "share your whole screen" is the common request in technical rounds.
Teams audio device selection
Teams keeps its own speaker setting independent of the Windows default. Check Settings → Devices and match it to your system output so CueNova hears the call.
Give and take control
If an interviewer requests control of your screen, they are driving your actual desktop, not a captured copy. Capture exclusion is about frames, not input — decline if you are not prepared for that.
Your own device policy
If you are interviewing on a laptop managed by your current employer, endpoint-management software on that machine is a real consideration independent of Teams. Use a personal machine.
